This web series is the brainchild of Indie actress Illeana Douglas.She writes ,acts and at times directs these vignettes which see her character,basically herself, leaving acting behind to work at Ikea.At times hilarious and often clever the series features cameos by the likes of Jeff Goldblum,Ricky Lake and Tom Arnold.But perhaps the best performance here,other than Douglas, is Justine Bateman.Yes, the actress known for her role as Mallory from Family Ties.She plays a rival co-worker to Douglas with often hilarious results.She delivers an extremely wry, droll performance and her character manages to set up her own talk show within the confines of the Ikea store.
This series came to my attention through a lecture we had on Distribution.Ikea now sponsor and fund this show after seeing it broadcast on the web.I guess for them it is the ultimate product placement a store could ever wish for.Check it out, I believe it is onto it’s second season now.As Illeana is quoted as saying art is where you make it….
